Sunday Snapshots

Last Sunday, we celebrated the last day of Life Kids in 2006. The team decided on an 'in-cursion' as opposed to our usual excursions. Let the snapshots tell the story:

Briefing time! This is just immediately after Life TV, and we're all on the 10th floor of Arrow Heights. The children would each receive coupons, redeemable for games - on successfully recalling memory verses from last week.

So the boys (in predictable fashion - including the big boys) went straight to Halo 2 in all its full gore.

And the girls tried out singing...

... and para para dancing.

All was well until Andrew and Tze Shin decided that they would have a singing match...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
... and were still at it half an hour later ;p

Soon after - realizing that the kids needed a good workout, we moved them all outside. Here we see them try to beat each other in getting submerged fruit out of a bowl using only their mouths (look ma.... no hands!!). Let us watch David, one of our kids play:

'Uh oh...'

'Here goes nothing...'

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
'Bummer, this is harder than I thought'.

Then with faces still dripping wet, we had them look for candy hidden in flour (very very messy).

Krystal - who is a great sport, decided to have a go!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Very very smart girl too!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Still got messed up anyhow.... ;p

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Right... MESSY!!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
And as a bonus - any unused coupons would be redeemable for water balloons to pelt Ivy (who is such a great sport!!). All was well until...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
... the leaders realized that they were extra water balloons (so why not have a go at Ivy too!!??)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
First Ivy got really really wet...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Then they realized - 'Hey!! Why isn't Josh standing there as well?'. Here is where I go: 'Uh oh...'. Since they were no more water balloons, the boys (and Ivy) decided that the bowls we used for the previous competition (to grab fruit) would have to suffice!

Bleh!

Then we spent time in prayer - here the team was praying for me, for the year ahead in Adelaide.

Then we celebrated Michy's, Chris Chan and Christine Chew's Birthday.

HDR Photograph

Still working on Julius and Joyce's wedding photographs. Meantime, on the weekend I re-photographed a previous shot. A HDR Photograph (High Dynamic Range) is made up of many photographs superimposed. The resulting picture is richer in colour and solves the problem of shadowing (e.g. if the sky is very much brighter than the foreground).

I am still learning this process - and this photograph (created using 9 shots) is not the very best - but here goes:

Picture-less Update

2 papers down. 1 OSCE (An examination of various short clinical problems) and the dreaded Long Case (Examination of one complex clinical problem and management issues with a viva to boot!) completed.

Praise God for 'acute pancreatitis' (uh... I don't have it!). But my Long Case patient does - and thank God because I just spent an evening recently holed up at McDonald's discussing the very 'acute pancreatitis' with a colleague. Needless to say - I walked out of the examination room beaming - and very thankful she does not have Leukemia (that I only studied all of 3 minutes on) or Sjogren's Syndrome or Steroid overdose or Pott's Disease or any mambo jumbo that I cannot pronounce or spell. BTW if you think you have any of the above mentioned problems in the future... see another doctor.

1 OSCE left tomorrow at the Austin - and that's it! NO MORE exams, nada, zilch. Free man, graduate... no more studying (yeah right!), you get the drift.

So till then - apologies for the lack of updates! Unless you want to see photographs of exam pape... (oooh... shouldn't have mentioned it... shhhh....)

Julius & Joyce's Wedding Part 3: Church

A few hand picked photographs from the church ceremony. I am very pleased with a new effect I learnt: 'Glow'. Check it out in the pictures entitled 'Gorgeous little church' and 'Hands'. Julius and Joyce's wedding reflected the couple's personality brilliantly.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
The boys arrive, the girls look on.

The boys attempt to serenade the girls... who remain unimpressed.

The girls have Julius enjoy 'Tang Yuen' - filled with Wasabi (no less!!)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
But the boys still have to buy their way in...
