Graduation
After 6 very long years - albeit enriching and very fun ones, the university actually saw it fit to graduate me (gasp!! horror of horrors - poor patients etc.) But on a more sombre note - it has been a loosely guarded secret that mortality rates within hospitals do rise during the initial few months where junior staff (doctors & nurses alike) are recruited.
On something less morbid - it's been crazy around here with showing parents around, applying for new visa, applying for Medical Registration in South Australia, looking for new accommodation, applying for a Medicare Provider Number, endless Police Checks (seriously do I look THAT bad!!??), and hiring movers to move my stuff... and so many more whilst planning a certain person's bucks night. Sigh!
Since I am still ranting - my movers quoted me this: AUD 2109 to move my stuff from my apartment in Carlton to Bedford Park in South Australia. But I forgot to inform them that my apartment is on the first floor with no lift access. Modified quote: AUD 3100. Seriously... AUD 2100 to move to Adelaide I can accept, AUD 1000 to move things down 1 floor is silly. Still the hospital is paying for this...
Back to photos (Thanks Gids - for this week and last, and whoever was playing with my camera!!!). So for ONCE - it's ALL about me, me, me. But so wierd to be on the other side of the camera:
One for the record. No fake degrees off the internet here. AUD 90000 for each slip of paper (based on school fees). For the inquisitive one - I have a parchment for my MBBS and another for Biomedical Science.
My parents - whom I officially bankrupted over the last few years ;)
Again with them plus my cousin who is graduating from RMIT next week in Logistics Management.
Random South Lawn snapshot
Huwaaaah!! With Jack who is down for my graduation plus Ash's wedding, Ash & Sean
My homies - Abela and TK 'The Apologetics'
Yuchun and Sophia
Julius and Joyce
Natalie who graduated Medicine - Monash on Thursday, and Tami who graduated Dentistry - Melbourne University the same day itself.
Ailing - the bestest sister and senior you could have. Thank you for 6 years of notes, encouragement, and help with work esp. the Year 3 assignment (shivers down my spine right now).
With the boys.
With the girls.
Big group shot!!
There are still a few more photos e.g. with Life Kids, Joy and Terence, Keryn and Joseph, Ash and Ange, Audrey and Andy that I am still working on. The photos are sort of more difficult to work on because of glare. Thanks so much all - for everyone who embraced me as family during the last few years!
